This statuette is the artist's interpretation of Frida Kahlo's famous painting Self-Portrait dedicated to Leon Trotski or Between the curtains. As in the painting offered to her ex-lover for his birthday, Frida is represented in traditional dress, a rebozo on her shoulders, with a bouquet and a letter in her hands.

The Aguilar family is one of the most famous families of folk artists to date.

Josefina, Guillermina, Concepcion, Demetrio and others are famous for their clay statuettes painted in bright colors.

The favorite themes of their creations are religious icons, the Day of the Dead, mythological figures and femininity.
